Yeah, i did a lot of the paint work on those rims too. Marcus has them now and they still look like they're holding up. Index cards > tape. Learned that afterwards.

Its pretty easy, but Im more apt to powdercoat my own wheels now.  Grin

1. sandpaper
2. scotch pad ( to smooth out the sanding)
3. wipe clean of ALL the dust
4. primer
5. 1st layer of paint
6. 2nd layer of paint
7. clear coat

allow 10 minutes between layers of paint for the paint to get sticky.. you will get the best results that way

Also do light coats of paint.. its better to do light coats of paint a couple of times than less coats of paint thats just applied heavier.. you dont want any paint runs do you?

If there's anything I've learned about spray paint, its about the quality of the paint, the can, and how it sprays.

Don't buy that shit with no ball bearing in it, its gonna get clogged and drip everywhere.

My personal preference is Krylon with their EZ spray tips.

Two coats of primer (Krylon)  and about 5 coats of paint (also Krylon).  Clear is your choice, but given the heat and humidity recently, unless you're doing it inside its gonna look like poo.

hey everyone. I wanna paint my stock msp rims black but dont know whats the best way to go. Should i just spray them with black spray paint or take them to a shop nd have them powercoat and bake them. Does anyone know what might be the best way?
