??? i was definitely there because it was done by me at the shop. we need Chris to get in this thread and solve this great mystery. i have a pretty good memory for the installs that made me hate life and i don't think that was one. but perhaps the memory was erased by  :chug: .

Eric was the guy that came in and helped kick ass on my install, even though he was uber sun burnt from being too awesomely drunk on the lake the day before with his band mates.

The rear lower bolt that went thru the shock on the right side wasn't threading as nicely as we wanted too and we were all too big of pussies to just go for it, but Eric just got in there and worked it. He didn't care if he fucked my car up or not, he just wanted to see it low, lol.

Later on at a monthly meet, Jake said "Good thing that guy was there, he really helped out a lot."

And it was day time Eric, not night time, hot as balls actually because it was towards the end of may. Then I dropped your still slightly drunk ass off downtown at some hotel to meet some chicks over by Minute Maid Park. I know, I have a freakishly weird memory, but it comes in handy at times. And that's even from my perpetually drunk days. Now my memory plagues me since I don't get drunk anymore.

I remember that clearly now. Thanks Chris and thanks to Eric for helping out so many moons (suns) ago. I didn't realize that the helpful, enthusiastic fellow was Eric. That bolt enters the hub at a slightly upward angle. If you don't bolt it first or leave slack on the top shock mount, it can be horrible to get it. I've seen people try to impact it before properly starting it by hand and the results aren't pretty. Luckily, Eric went for it and it worked or we would have been there well into the night since I didn't own any taps back then.

Well believe me it does not always go like that! It's been many years of mistakes and lessons that I've learned how not to do something and a little fitness and a hammer is a great combo of tools lolol

It's the only way to learn. I've done 78 installs since we did Chris's, and shake my head at how many times I did things the hard way before learning better methods.

I love the evolution of the teamwork we're able to implement at the shop on every car that comes through that garage door.

We've become so much more efficient and learned from each other. <3

Trial and error. And if drinking, Trial and errors, lol. Torn/ Punctured CV Boots, Cross threaded Shoulder bolts in Hubs, Snapped Headlight Levelers, etc... lol. Sometimes brute force and alcohol do not prevail....Ok, so most of the time. But sometimes it works out.

Eric may have been using brute force when helping with the TT coil overs, although we did not cross thread the shoulder bolt. That was more commentary on the fears we had when jake was installing the mkv coils.

Nice work. Sorry I had to bail before completion. Not that I was any help anyway. Good meeting you all and thanks for letting me bum your jack and caulk gun.
